Day 6 - Smoky Mountains

This morning a local guide went with us to tell stories about the beautiful Smoky Mountain National Park. Set aside to protect the forest, this is the most visited national park in the country. We made stops to look at the views from high elevations, walked a short distance on the Appalachian Trail, and had a picnic lunch by a view.
In the town of Gatlinburg we rode on a tram for a bird's eye view of both the town and surrounding mountains. We also enjoyed some of the local shops and just being outdoors on such a perfect, sunny day.
Many of us went to a final show this evening. With so many to choose from, we will have to compare tomorrow. - Laurel Johnson, Tour Director
