We departed the hotel this morning to early morning fog but by the time we departed Duluth we had a beautiful sunny day. The gondola ride at Lutsen Mountain is a ride that takes your up 1,000 ft. to the top of one of the mountains on the Saw tooth Mountain Range. The gondola ride was fun and the colors we found at the top were spectacular, there were reds, pinks, golds, yellow and green all in a beautifully painted tapestry. Even the people that don’t like heights said the colors were well worth it.
On our guided tour of Split Rock Lighthouse we had the Lighthouse Keeper’s wife show us around, or was it just a costumed interpreter? Our last adventure of the day was walking the trails at Gooseberry Falls State Park. We couldn’t have had a more beautiful day for being outside in nature.- Connie VanderPoel, Tour Director
