Arizona Day 13-16

March 6, 2009
Today was the last leg of our journey. Even though a 'flu bug' hitched a ride with our crew, people were fondly recalling all that we had seen and experienced. Our Tour Director and Driver kept us on track all the while taking excellent care of us!! Thanks Sandy and Larry!!!

Leaving Amarillo behind, we arrived in Oklahoma City. Prior to entering the building, a park ranger explained the meaning of the structures outside. Members of our group proceeded on a self-guided tour through the Oklahoma Memorial, which was quite an emotional trip down memory lane. Lunch is always a treat at Markie's Deli, which followed the tour.

From Oklahoma City we headed to Topeka, KS.

Traveling from one point to another was our main objective today, highlighted by lunch at Feldman's Wrong Way diner in Amarillo, TX. Great food.

Our first stop today was at the Stahmann Farm, a family owned farm since 1926. When the Stahmanns arrived here they raised cotton and then, for no apparent reason, Mr. Stahmann switched to pecan trees. Several forms of pecan products were sampled and traveled back with us aboard the bus.
