We've headed north to San Antonio and have enjoyed another very warm (78 degrees), sunny, dry day. Thankfully the winds have died down, so it was pleasant to spend almost all afternoon outdoors. A one hour chartered boat cruise on the San Antonio River, known as the Riverwalk in the downtown area, was absolutely lovely. There were so many people out walking, and sidewalk cafes were filled. After the boat ride, we walked to the Alamo, the Shrine of Texas independence. The rest of our afternoon was spent inside the walls of that old Spanish mission. There are
displays, movies and history talks that make the past come alive. We checked in to our hotel, located right on the Riverwalk, and are thoroughly enjoying the setting as well as the amenities of this historic building. We're looking forward to a second day in the city tomorrow. - Laurel Johnson - Tour Director
