Hoping to find spring and cherry blossoms in Washington DC, our first day
started with unexpected wintery weather. Snow and blowing snow and icy
snow-packed roads made travel sloppy and slow. The wind buffeted the bus
on the interstate as we headed east, and it was difficult driving.
Fortunately, by the time we started south on I-35, we had run out of the
snow. In fact, by the afternoon coffee break, we found ourselves with
temperatures of 67 degrees! Our arrival tonight at the hotel was not as
late as we had expected it might be, and we are so grateful for the
improved weather. We are beginning to believe that we might find spring
after all! Laurel Johnson - Tour Director
