Day 1 - Great Smoky Mountains

Blue skies and sunshine - a great start to our Smoky Mountains and Bluegrass Country tour. It was a day of getting acquainted and enjoying the green leaves and flowering trees on our drive to Galesburg, Illinois. We even saw corn that was up. Some want me to mention that we spent our afternoon break at the Coral Ridge Mall in Coralville, IA. It may not be worth a drive there just for shopping, but the mall really is impressive. They have a carousel to ride, an ice skating rink so many watched the skaters, and then so many stores that we would have had to have spent the
rest of the day there to even get a good start at serious shopping (although there were some purchases made, even in the short time we had). Tonight the hotel had a nice reception for us - a great way to end our first day. Laurel Johnson - Tour Director
