It was a day of mostly driving but still very interesting because we traveled through five states. We had our breakfast in Tennessee at the hotel, morning coffee in Kentucky, lunch in Illinois, afternoon coffee in Missouri and dinner in Kansas tonight next to the hotel. We noted big
changes in the scenery as we traveled west. In the Nashville area, the magnolias were in bloom, the small grain was beginning to head out and corn was about 6" high. The view along the interstate was mostly rolling hills and trees with only small fields. The farther we traveled the
flatter it got and the larger the fields were. We did make a stop at the Gateway Arch in St. Louis. The sun was out, and the stainless steel of the Arch was sparkling. As the tallest man-made monument in the nation, it is an impressive sight. Laurel Johnson- Tour Director
