Christmas in Branson - Nov. 11-16 Day 1

Today was rather like what they say at the start of Gilligan's Island. We started out on a 25 minute drive to Florence, MN, our first pick up point. But with glare ice on #23 and an unfavorable impression of Minnesota's technique for sanding its roads (you'll have to ask some of us who witnessed their attempts) it took us two hours and 25 minutes to make that first stop. We drove out of the ice and into pretty heavy snow, arriving in Sioux Falls by noon. We had lunch there and continued south, running into fog and rain! Everyone on the tour was so cooperative and enjoyed getting acquainted. We took a break at a truck stop in Council Bluffs, and continued on to our stay in Overland Park. Because we couldn't really see the area we were traveling through and because it got dark so early, we watched a DVD and laughed ourselves silly with the comedy routine.
Snacks and punch at the hotel helped bond us together even more. It was a wonderful ending to an interesting day. - Laurel Johnson, Tour Director
