Leaving San Francisco this morning, we crossed the Bay Bridge. It was so foggy that we couldn't even see that a city existed. How blessed we were to enjoy San Francisco yesterday. We stopped in Fairfield, CA at the Jelly Belly factory. Our tour included samples of these gourmet jelly beans. Driving past almond groves, we continued to Sacramento. We had a walking tour through the state capitol and had a chance to learn about almonds at Blue Diamond. After probably the best hamburgers ever for lunch, we drove through the Sierra Nevada Mountains. We found huge trees,
lots of snow, a beautiful view of Donner Lake, ran into the City Engineer from Marshall at the one scenic viewpoint and continued to Reno, NV. After a photo stop of the famous arch downtown, we continued to the neighboring town of Sparks for our overnight stay.-Laurel Johnson, Tour Director
