After a hearty breakfast at the hotel, we met our step-on guide for the Philadelphia city tour. She was dressed in period costume, was funny and full of information. We went to Independence Hall, saw the Liberty Bell, went to Christ Church, walked up and down the narrow stairways in Betsy Ross' house, had lunch at Reading Terminal Market (people reported that the Philly cheesesteak sandwiches were great), went up the Rocky steps at the Art Museum, had pictures taken with the Rocky statue and learned so much about Ben Franklin, William Penn and our country's birthplace. From Philadelphia, we drove the New Jersey Turnpike to New York City. Our hotel is just around the corner from Times Square, so we are able to go out tonight and start getting the feel of this exciting city. All of the neon lights and the crowds of people are quite a change from our hometowns.- Laurel Johnson, Tour Director
