Door County - Day 1

We had great traveling weather all day as we headed east towards Wisconsin. By noon we had crossed the St. Croix River and were ready for our authentic German-style meal in Hudson. It was tasty, the atmosphere was attractive, and our only regret was that we didn't have a couple of hours for shopping as well. We continued driving east, noting the great number of silos and dairy farms. In fact, we made our afternoon coffee stop close to Colby, WI where the unique cheese was developed. By the time we got to Wausau, we were moving from fields of corn, soybeans and alfalfa to mainly trees. At Green Bay we stopped at Lambeau Field and did not find one purple item for sale in the gift shop! Our stay is in Packer town tonight.- Laurel Johnson, Tour Director
