Christmas in Branson Nov. 17 - 22 Day 3

A clear, sunny day in Branson. It was windy so it didn't feel as warm as the forecasted upper 60s, but we enjoyed it as colder weather is coming here.

Our first stop today was at a series of shops, and packages began filling the overhead racks, so it must have been a good stop!

The first show of the day was a Tribute to Red Skelton done by Tom Mullica, a man who grew up on a farm in Wisconsin and spent his whole childhood imitating Clem Caddidlehopper. His imitation of Red Skelton's characters (Clem, the little boy and others) were so good, you'd think Red was on stage. People chuckled and laughed and reminisced.

Our afternoon show was the always-popular Daniel O'Donnell. The theater, which holds almost 2,600 people, was full of fans who listened to both Daniel and Mary Duff. Mary came out in a wheelchair and sat on a stool after breaking her leg in Ireland just before their departure. Daniel's patience with all the women who want their picture taken with him is just amazing, and he sings during the whole photo session.

We went from smooth and mellow to rocking and rolling this evening with the music of Paul Revere and the Raiders for the first half of the show and Bill Medley (half of the Righteous Brothers) in the second half. It was an evening of remembering the music of the 60s and 70s. We decided that if Paul Revere had been seven years old instead of 70, he would have been on a healthy dose of Ritalin! He was in constant motion, either playing and singing or making jokes. People came out at intermission saying they couldn't remember laughing that hard. - Laurel Johnson, Tour Director
