California - Day 18
On our drive home today, we compared highlights and memories of the California tour. There were so many, because as some said, "there was something every day." The sea lions and the whales. The Santa Barbara wharf. The sand hill cranes. The Spanish missions, especially the one at San Juan Capistrano. The Crystal Cathedral and Temple Square, especially the Conference Center and the thrill of hearing the Mormon Tabernacle Choir rehearse. The Reagan Library and Museum. The jelly bean factory. The Golden Gate Bridge. And mentioned several times were the sounds of the ocean and all the flowers. The closer we got to home, the less green it got. But we all agreed that seeing the palm trees, grass, pansies in bloom and the flowering trees made spring seem very, very close. And as always, the friendships formed during these 18 days have enriched our lives.- Laurel Johnson, Tour Director
