We spent the morning getting acquainted on the way to Rochester where we stopped for lunch. There were lots of naps taken on our drive to the Dells, and that was good because once we arrived, we kept moving! The resort where we are staying gave us a delicious punch and cookie reception. The natural beauty of the Dells and the Wisconsin River was all around us as we rode the Ducks. We raveled through the woods, on the river, through canyons of sandstone rock formations,on the water of Lake Delton and through a fern canyon, with our driver giving commentary that was a combination of comedy and natural or local history. We laughed, some of us screamed when we went really fast down steep hills, and all of were pretty startled with the "big splash," hitting the lake at a pretty good clip resulting in water spraying and running down the center of the Duck. Next we enjoyed a family style meal at Paul Bunyan's Cookhouse, a very popular restaurant with a constant line-up waiting to get in. The last stop for the day was at the Rick Wilcox Theater. He and his wife performed a very entertaining show of magic and illusion that left us talking all the way back to the motel, asking ourselves how they did the sleight of hand and where did the doves come from and how did she change clothes so quickly. There was audience involvement (Burt did get his $20 bill back!) and all of us left smiling. It will feel good to rest tonight.-Laurel Johnson, Tour Director
